HOUSTON - HBU plays the second of three straight at home, hosting No. 14 McNeese in the Southland Conference opener Saturday at 6 p.m. at Husky Stadium. Sophomore quarterback
Bailey Zappe completed 21-of-31 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns, the second-most in HBU history in last week's 49-7 victory over Southwest Baptist. Sophomore running back
Dreshawn Minnieweather recorded the seventh 100-yard rushing performance in school history with 106 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown for the season's opening score. Husky quarterbacks completed passes to 10 different receivers, including four different ones for touchdowns.

Langston Tunson posted 16 tackles, the most in a single game by a Husky not named
Garrett Dolan, to go along with two sacks and one of HBU's school-record four interceptions. Senior cornerback
Raphael Lewis became HBU's all-time leader with his fifth interception, returning it 36 yards for his third career pick six. Senior linebacker

McNeese scored a 17-14 victory on the road against Northern Colorado in its season opener. James Tabary completed 15-of-23 passes for 206 yards and an interception. Justin Pratt rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown, while Parker Orgeron led the Cowboys (1-0) receivers with four catches for 77 yards.

BJ Blunt led the Cowboys with eight tackles and a pair of sacks and Cody Roscoe had four tackles with 2.5 sacks. Gabe Foster returned an interception 49 yards for a touchdown and Jovon Burris also had an interception.

The Cowboys lead the all-time series, 1-0, after holding off the Huskies for a 27-12 victory last season in Lake Charles. Lewis had the only multi-interception game in HBU history, returning one for a touchdown.

HBU will honor Dolan, who passed away on May 6, with his No. 40 becoming the first "Honored Number" in the program's history. The number will not be worn this season and will be given to a Husky who earns the honor in future years. Dolan had several family members who played football at McNeese.

The Huskies wrap up the homestand with another conference rival, Abilene Christian, on Family Weekend Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
