CHANDLER, Arizona – HBU men's golf carded 289 in the third round to remain 11
th with 10-over par 874 Tuesday afternoon at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
Junior
Dan Dimaculangan, who tied for 27
th, led the Huskies with a total of even-par 216, after shooting 72 in the third round. One stroke behind him was senior
Carlos Trevino. He shot 70 to climb up 20 individual spots to tie for 31
st with 1-over par 217. Senior
Val Almendarez climbed up 14 spots to tie for 40
th with 3-over par219, after firing 71 in his final round. Junior Zachary Campbell shot 76 and tied for 56
th with 6-over par 222, while
Nicko Martinez shot 76 to tie for 83
rd with 14-over par 230. Individual competitor, sophomore
Marcelo Trevino remained in 89
th with 24-over par 240 after carding 79 in his third round.
UTSA finished as the team leader with 22-under par 842. Sam Houston State trailed by four strokes with 18-under par 846. Wyoming finished just one stroke behind SHSU and Long Beach State and UC Davis finished tied for 4
th with 10-under par 854.
UTSA's Sean Meehan claimed the top spot individually with 11-under par 205, one stroke ahead of McNeese State's Blake Elliott, four ahead of Long Beach State's Joe Fryer and Wyoming's John Murdock and Aaron Lickteig.
The Huskies take a couple weeks off before they travel to McKinney, Texas for the Southland Conference Championship Monday, April 23 through Wednesday, April 25.
