MGOLF: Five HCU Golfers Announced as Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars

Barrera, Napier, Pawlak, Smith and Willey earn national recognition



NORMAN, Okla. – On Tuesday, HCU golfers Roy Barrera, Mason Napier, Brooks Pawlak, Clayton Smith and Brendon Willey were announced as 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
 
The five Huskies earn the distinction by virtue of maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, being at least a sophomore academically and owning a stroke average below 76 for the 2024-25 season.
 
Barrera makes his second appearance on the GCAA list following a junior season in which he averaged 74.3 per round. Also a two-time honorees, junior Napier earns his spot with a season stroke average of 75.8. Pawlak, a sophomore, earns his first All-American Scholar honor after averaging 74.6 per round. Smith ended the season with a 75.8 stroke average while Willey led the Huskies with an average of 73.4.
 
HCU is one of just 24 teams nationally, and the lone squad from the Southland Conference, with at least five honorees.
