HOUSTON – The Huskies are back in action to face Texas State in a non-conference softball matchup Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Bobcat Softball Stadium. The Legacy Sports Network audio broadcast with Bill Cousins is available at HBUHuskies.com

Senior Nicole Shedd leads the Huskies (2-7) at the plate with a .391 batting average with three doubles, four RBIs and two runs. Junior Brooke Bushman is hitting .308 with two triples, one double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Sophomore Heidi Jaquez leads with eight RBIs.

In the circle, freshman Jessica Patak (1-4) has appeared in seven games with five starts. In 29.0 innings she holds a 4.97 ERA.

Texas State is led by Hailey Mackay, who is hitting .393 at the plate with six home runs, four doubles,16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Bailee Carter is hitting .380 with two doubles, one triple, seven RBIs and 12 runs scored. Ariel Ortiz has a .281 batting average with two doubles, two home runs, 16 RBIs and eight runs scored.

Randi Rupp (9-5) leads the Bobcats with a 1.71 ERA in 94.1 innings, while McKenna Fryan (2-1) has a 0.82 ERA in 25.2 innings.

The Bobcats lead the all-time series against the Huskies, 6-0.
