DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – HBU senior cornerback
Raphael Lewis has been invited to play in the 2018 FCS National Bowl by Spiral Sunday, Dec. 9 at 12:30 p.m. CST at Daytona Stadium.
Lewis is the Huskies' all-time leader with 17 pass breakups and five interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns, and made 119 tackles. The Elk Grove, California, native was an All-Southland Conference First Team selection as a junior, making 62 tackles, a school-record four interceptions and returning two for scores, including a 92-yarder. He also set the HBU single-game record with two interceptions at McNeese. As a senior, Lewis made 57 tackles and returned his lone interception 36 yards for a touchdown.
The 2017 FCS Bowl was attended by 14 NFL teams and more than 30 scouts and personnel from professional football teams.
