CHOUDRANT, Louisiana –The HBU men's golf team shot 293 in the final round for a 54-hole total of 886 to finish tied for 8
th at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate.
In the final round, senior
Carlos Trevino totaled 218 carding 73 to tie for 23rd. Senior
Val Almendarez posted 72 in the third round to total 220. Armendariz finished tied for 29
th, while juniors
Zach Campbell fired 71 totaling 221 to finish tied for 33
rd. Junior
Dan Dimaculangan posted 77 to finish tied for 53
rd with a total of 227. Sophomore
Colin Mulligan turned in a 78 with a total of 240 to finish tied for 74
th.
South Florida seals the number one spot totaling 843. Stephen F. Austin takes 2
nd with a total of 856, six ahead of host, Louisiana Tech. Taking 4
th with 867 is UTSA and rounding out the top 5 is Central Arkansas and Abilene Christian with an 869.
The top 4 scores finished one point behind the next with South Florida's Cristian DiMarco winning the individual title with a score of 8-under par 208, while Stephen F. Austin's Angelo Leyvani takes 2
nd. Lewis George from Central Arkansas cards a 210 to finish 3
rd, followed by Louisiana Tech's Joacim Ahlund with a final score of 211.
The Huskies will return back to action for the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational Sept. 25-26 hosted by the University of Colorado at the Colorado National Golf Course in Erie, Colorado.
