NEW ORLEANS - With no midweek games remaining, HBU's final nine regular-season contests will all be in Southland Conference play, beginning with a three-game set on the road against New Orleans Friday through Sunday at Maestri Field.

The Huskies (22-18, 14-7 SLC), which have won eight of their last nine league games, are expected to send senior righthander Addison Russ (2-3, 3.00 ERA), senior lefthander Christian Thames (6-2, 3.72 ERA) and sophomore righthander Daniel Endsley (2-2, 2.12 ERA) to the mound. Sophomore righthander JT Newton has a team-leading 18 appearances, posting a 5-0 record with six saves, 36 strikeouts and seven walks in 36.1 innings.

Junior leftfielder Spencer Halloran leads HBU offensively, hitting .346 with 11 doubles, four triples, three home runs, 25 RBIs and 36 runs, while senior centerfielder Zane Otten is hitting .338 with five doubles, three triples, 14 RBIs, 27 runs and 16 stolen bases. Junior shortstop Tyler Depreta-Johnson has hit safely in the last 17 conference games and is hitting .323 with four doubles, a triple, a home run, 18 RBIs and 24 runs, while senior rightfielder Brandon Brintz is hitting .394 in Southland play and .308 overall with 10 doubles, a home runs, 22 RBIs and 29 runs. Junior first baseman Jake Pulcheon is hitting .291 and is tied for the team lead with 25 RBIs.

The Privateers (22-22-1, 10-11) will likely send righthander Shawn Semple (6-3, 3.26 ERA), lefthander Bryan Warzek (6-2, 2.25 ERA) and righty Riley Hodge (0-2, 6.87 ERA) to the hill.

John Cable leads UNO with a .353 batting average, 12 doubles, a triple, two home runs and 27 RBIs, while Owen Magee is hitting .345 with 13 doubles, a triple, five home runs, 40 RBIs and 30 runs. Samuel Capielano bats .328 with three doubles, three triples, two home runs nad 25 RBIs. Orynn Veillon has nine home runs and 37 RBIs, Tristan Clarke has also hit nine with 35 RBIs and Hezekiah Randolph has hit seven home runs with 26 driven in.

The Huskies lead the all-time series against the Privateers, 2-1, taking two-of-three in a Southland series in Houston three years ago. HBU will be making its first trip to New Orleans, leaving Northwestern State as the only Southland school it has never played on the road.

Friday's opener begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. start Saturday and a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday. The Legacy Sports Network audio broadcast with Russ Reneau begins with the pregame show 15 minutes prior to each first pitch and is available on HBUHuskies.com.
