Tyler Depreta-Johnson has a 12-game hitting streak and is batting .333 with three doubles, a triple, a home run, 14 RBIs and 18 runs. Senior rightfielder
Brandon Brintz is hitting .438 (14-for-32) over his last 10 games to raise his average to .288 with a team-leading eight doubles, a home run, 16 RBIs and 21 runs.

UIW (16-21, 5-10) is led by Kyler Genenbacher, who is hitting .359 with four doubles, 13 RBIs and 20 runs and Eddy Gonzalez, who is hitting .329 with nine doubles, 13 RBIs and 26 runs. Mark Whitehead is batting .313 with four doubles, 17 RBIs and a team-leading 34 runs, while David Anaya has a .291 batting average with five doubles, two home runs, 25 RBIs and 24 runs.

The Cardinals are expected to send righthanders John Shull (3-5, 3.65 ERA) and Bernie Martinez (3-2, 3.74 ERA) to the mound, while Sunday's starter has not been determined.

HBU has only faced three programs more its faced than UIW, holding a 30-25 advantage in the all-time series. Since the two schools entered the Southland in 2014, HBU leads the series, 4-2, taking two-of-three each of the last two years.

The series begins with a 6:30 p.m. start Friday, followed by a 3 p.m. first pitch Saturday and 1 p.m. in the finale Sunday.
