HOUSTON - HBU hosts its first Southland Conference series when Southeastern Louisiana visits Husky Field Friday through Sunday. The video and Legacy Sports Network audio broadcasts with Russ Reneau begin 15 minutes before each first pitch and are available on HBUHuskies.com.
 
Senior centerfielder Zane Otten has hit safely in seven-straight games and leads the Huskies (8-11, 0-3 SLC) with a .386 batting average, including three doubles, two triples, five RBIs, 11 runs and a team-leading five stolen bases on seven attempts. Junior leftfielder Spencer Halloran is hitting .351 with five doubles, four triples, three home runs, 17 RBIs and 19 runs, while junior first baseman/catcher Jake Pulcheon is hitting .315 with four doubles, nine RBIs and 11 runs.
 
The Huskies rotation will start with senior righthander Addison Russ (0-2, 2.20 ERA), followed by senior lefthander Christian Thames (2-1, 3.64 ERA) and sophomore righthander Zach Carter (3-2, 2.59 ERA).
 
 Taylor Schwaner is hitting .361 for the Lions (14-6, 5-1) with four doubles, three triples, six home runs, 31 RBIs and 22 runs, while Drew Avans is hitting .314 with two rdoubless, a triple, a home run, nine RBIs and 24 runs. Carson Crites bats .280 and has four doubles, two triples, two home runs, 18 RBIs and 17 runs.
 
SLU will likely send three righthanders to the mound in Mac Sceroler (4-0, 2.03 ERA), Corey Gaconi (2-0, 2.60 ERA) and Kade Granier (1-2, 5.92 ERA).
 
The Lions led the all-time series with the Huskies, 8-2, sweeping the last two regular-season series.
 
Friday's opener begins with a 2 p.m. first pitch, followed by a 1 p.m. start on Saturday and a 2 p.m. start Sunday. The Friday forecast calls for rain, so stay tuned to HBUHuskies.com for any schedule updates.
 
HBU will not play a midweek game this week, returning to action on the road in a Southland Conference series against  Lamar March 31 through April 2 in Beaumont, Texas.
