HOUSTON - HBU baseball wraps up a seven-game homestand with a three-game series against LIU Brooklyn Friday and Saturday at Husky Field. The video and Legacy Sports Network broadcasts with
Russ Reneau will be available on HBUHuskies.com, beginning with the pregame show 15 minutes prior to the first pitch.
Due to rain in the weekend forecast, the Huskies and Blackbirds will begin the series with a doubleheader Friday at 11 a.m., then the finale will follow Saturday at 1 p.m.
Junior first baseman/catcher
Jake Pulcheon leads HBU (5-3) with a .409 batting average, with a double, six RBIs and five runs, while junior outfielder
Spencer Halloran is hitting .400 with two doubles, two triples, a home run and is leading the team with 10 RBIs and nine runs. Junior shortstop
Tyler Depreta-Johnson is hitting .321, while senior rightfielder
Brandon Brintz has hit safely in his last four.
HBU is expected to start lefthander
Christian Thames (0-0, 4.09 ERA) in the first game Friday, followed by sophomore righthander

Joe Curcio leads LIU (2-4) with a .462 batting average, a double, two triples, three RBIs and three runs. Joe Mercadante is hitting .393 with two doubles, a triple, a team-leading six RBIs and three runs. Harrison Preschel leads the Blackbirds with five runs and is hitting .304 with a double, a triple and four driven in.
The Blackbirds have started righthanders Baylor LaPointe (1-1, 6.30 ERA), Nick Freijomil (1-1, 11.00 ERA) and Anthony Rupp (0-2, 12.38 ERA) the past two weekends.
HBU will leave the city of Houston for the first time this season when they play a three-game series at Kansas March 10-12Â in Lawrence, Kansas.
