THIBODAUX, Louisiana - HBU opens Southland Conference play on the road with a three-game series against Nicholls Friday through Sunday at Ray E. Didier Field. The Legacy Sports Network Audio broadcast with Russ Reneau begins 15 minutes before the first pitch and is avaialble on HBUHuskies.com.
 
Senior centerfielder Zane Otten is hitting .481 with three doubles, a triple, five RBIs and nine runs, while junior leftfielder Spencer Halloran is hitting .383 with four doubles, is tied for the league lead with four triples, a home run, 13 RBIs and 16 runs for the Huskies (8-7, 0-0 SLC). Junior first baseman/catcher Jake Pulcheon is hitting .348 with four doubles, nine RBIs and 11 runs, and junior shortstop Tyler Depreta-Johnson is hitting .308 with three RBIs and eight runs.
 
HBU is expected to start senior righthander Addison Russ (0-1, 2.18 ERA), senior lefthander Christian Thames (2-0, 3.33 ERA) and sophomore righthander Zach Carter (3-1, 2.74 ERA). Sophomore righthander Daniel Endsley (0-1, 2.41 ERA, 1 SV) has thrown 18.2 innings, while sophomore righthander JT Newton (1-0, 2.70, 1 SV) has worked 10.0 innings in relief.
 
Nicholls (9-7, 2-1) took 2-of-3 on the road against Northwestern State as the Colonels began conference play last weekend. The Colonels are led by Alex Tucker, who is hitting .315 with three doubles, four RBIs and six runs, and Chet Niehaus, who is hitting .302 with a double, three RBIs and six runs. Gavin Wehby is hitting .268 with five doubles, 15 RBIs and seven runs. Joey Morales leads Nicholls with 13 runs.
 
The Colonels are expected to send righthanders Cole Stapler (1-2, 4.18 ERA) and Cayden Hatcher (1-1, 5.49 ERA) and lefthander Mike Hanchar (2-0, 1.35 ERA) to the mound.
 
The Huskies return home to face UTSA Tuesday at 2 p.m., then host Southeastern Louisiana in Southland Conference play Friday through Sunday at Husky Field.
