Junior guard
Amanda Johnson leads the scoring for the Huskies (3-4), shooting 48.4 percent from the field with 16.9 points and 6.1 rebounds a game. She recorded her fourth double-figure game and first double-double of the season with 28 points and a career-high 11 rebounds against Paul Quinn Wednesday night. Sophomore guard
Sophie Taylor averages 9.7 points per game, while
Veronika Kirienko contributes 8.0 points and 4.7 rebounds, after putting up a career high 18 points and pulling down 11 boards against Paul Quinn. Freshmen guard
Megan Valdez-Crader is shooting 40.0 percent from the floor and 37.5 from the 3-point line, averaging 5.5 points a game.
Huston-Tillotson (1-3) is coming off of their first win of the season, breaking a three-game losing streak at Texas College Thursday afternoon. The Lady Rams are led by Taylor Briggs, who is shooting 42.9 percent from the field, averaging 12.5 points and 6.3 boards in 27.8 minutes a game. Dezarai Spencer adds 8.3 points a game and leads the team with 13 assists and 11 steals. Lolita Franklin is shooting 22.0 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent (15-of-30) from the 3-point range, averaging 10.3 points per contest, while Charmin Woods contributes 10.6 points a game.
The Huskies will return to action on the road against Louisiana foes, beginning in Monroe, La. against ULM on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. They will then take on Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La. Thursday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
