STILLWATER, Okla. – HBU men's basketball closes out a four-game stretch away from home on Sunday, Nov. 26, afternoon with a visit to Gallagher-Iba Arena to face Oklahoma State at 2:00 p.m. The game will be aired live on FSN and, as always, Husky fans can listen to the action via the Legacy Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King available at HBUHuskies.com.
The Huskies (1-4) come into the game with three players averaging double-figures in scoring, led by senior center
Josh Ibarra. Ibarra is averaging 16.8 points per game and his 9.3 rebounds per outing ranks him just outside the top-50 in the country at 52
nd. His 3.5 offensive boards per game are 45
th-best nationally. Within the Southland Conference, Ibarra is sixth in scoring and first in rebounding.
Junior point guard
Braxton Bonds is dishing out six assists per game, the 26
th-best output in the nation and leading the SLC. Bonds is also adding 9.8 points, 5.4 rebounds 2.2 steals per outing for the Huskies. The freshmen duo of
David Caraher and
Ian DuBose are both averaging more than 13 points and five boards per game, combining to averages of 29.4 points and 11 rebounds.
As a team, HBU is 10
th in the country with 15.8 offensive rebounds per game. The Huskies' scoring offense of 86.6 points per game is good for 50
th-highest in the nation but fifth in the SLC as five teams in the conference are among the highest-scoring offensive in NCAA Division I.
Oklahoma State (4-1) will counter the high-scoring Huskies with the nation's 24
th-best scoring defense, holding opponents to just 59.8 points per game. Redshirt senior Jeffrey Carroll missed the Cowboys' first three games but in their last game, a 73-67 win over Pitt, he put up 29 points and nine rebounds off the bench. After Carroll, OSU has four players averaging from 10 to 11.2 points per game. The Cowboys are 3-0 at home so far this season.
HBU is 1-10 all-time against the Cowboys with the lone Husky win coming in Houston at Sharp Gym during the 1983-84 season with the Huskies earning a 75-65 victory on Nov. 28, 1983.
The Huskies will return home for a pair of games, first against Dallas Christian on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 7:00 p.m. and then on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 7:00 p.m. against Texas State.
