Longhorn NetworkTexas State ScheduleAUSTIN – HBU Track and Field will be part of the largest field in the history of the historic 89th Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, held March 30-April 2 from Mike A. Myers Stadium.
More than 7,500 athletes, Olympic holders, and even a world record holder will partake in one of the nation's largest track meets.
It begins Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. as
Garrison Fick will join 19 other athletes in the decathlon. He joins Abilene Christian's Luke Woods as the only Southland Conference representatives.
Shawn O'Brien will compete in the 110m hurdles, while
Jarell McFarland toes the line for the 400m hurdles.
On the women's side,
Emily Dunn will represent the Huskies in the 1500m, the lone SLC representative.
Desiree Scott will test 79 other participants in the 100m hurdles.
Taylor Thomas qualified in the women's long jump and will look for a strong showing in the event.
Some Huskies are also competing at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational, which is held March 31-April 2 from the Bobcat Track and Field Stadium.
D'Angelo Wallace will take part in the long jump to represent the men, while five women will compete.
Briana O'Brien will compete in the hammer;
Renee Gentle in the high jump; and
Ana Kriletic,
Michelle Linton, and
Shantelle Slaughter in the long jump.
Admission to the Texas Relays is $20 on Friday and Saturday and $10 for general admission. An all-session pass runs for $40 and $20, respectively. Admission is free on Wednesday and Thursday. Admission at Texas State is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children seven years and younger are free.
