Taylor Thomas will look to repeat as women's long jump champion as the two-day 2016 Southland Conference Indoor Championships kick off Monday from the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Thomas is one of 32 participants in the field and will be alongside teammates senior

Ana Kriletic.
Senior
Garrison Fick will look to improve upon his school record in the heptathlon at the University of Houston Invitational two weeks ago as he and fellow senior
Shawn O'Brien take on the rest of the field. Last year, Fick finished sixth out of 15 participants.
Junior
Kierstin Santana earned the silver in the women's 800 in last season's indoor championships and has her eyes set on gold this year. She is scheduled in heat two of Friday's preliminaries.
Sophomore
Briana O'Brien is one of 18 participants in the women's weight throw, as she will be competing with Sam Houston State's Ashley Jenkins, who has the third-longest throw in the nation at 21.65m/71-0.5".
Monday's events begin at 8:30 a.m. with the women's 60m hurdles pentathlon. The first running event begins at noon with the women's 5000m finals, while the women's weight throw starts the field events at 1 p.m.
