Live StatsGame NotesHOUSTON – Fresh off the heels of an electrifying Southland Conference win Thursday night, the HBU women's basketball team looks to maintain the momentum when the Huskies host Southeastern Louisiana Saturday at 4 p.m. from Sharp Gym.
SLU leads the all-time series, 2-0. The Lady Lions won the inaugural meeting in a double-overtime thriller, 85-84, in Houston on Jan. 25, 2014, before defeating the Huskies last season in Hammond, 67-59, on Jan. 10, 2015, behind
Rachel Arthur's game-high 18 points.
HBU (6-7 overall, 1-2 SLC) snapped a two-game losing streak in a big way, connecting on a season-high 10 three-pointers. The last time the Huskies hit that many treys was at North Dakota on March 4, 2010, when they connected on 11. Arthur scored a game-high 24 points - one shy of her career high - while
Lisa Zderadicka dropped a personal-best 22 points on another new record six 3-pointers.
Anna Strickland registered her ninth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while
Monet Neal also had 10 boards. On the season, Strickland continues to lead the SLC - and is 7th nationally - with 12.8 rebounds per game. She is 13th in the conference in scoring (13.3), second in field-goal percentage (47.3), third in blocked shots (1.5), and T-4th in steals (2.1).
Southeastern Louisiana (2-11, 1-1) began its Texas road trip with an 80-56 loss at Sam Houston State Thursday. Nanna Pool posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Three Lady Lions average double digit points, led by KaeLynn Boyd's 14.8 points per game. Taylin Underwood and Pool follow with 14.5 and 13.5, respectively. Pool is the top rebounder and shot blocker, averaging 8.1 boards per contest and has 10 blocks. Underwood is seventh in the SLC in scoring, while Pool is third in rebounding. Peaches Anderson is ninth with 3.0 assists per game.
