The Huskies (1-3) are paced by sophomore running backs
Terrance Peters and
B.J. Kelly. Peters has rushed for 347 yards and a touchdown, while Kelly has rushed for 190 and three touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback
Max Staver has completed 32-of-70 passes for three touchdowns and four interceptions. Sophomore wide receiver
Ethan Fry has nine catches for 146 yards and a touchdown, and junior wide receiver
Ricardo Barnett has six catches for 100 yards.
On defense, sophomore linebacker
Garrett Dolan leads the Southland Conference with 39 total tackles and ranks second with 9.8 tackles per game. Sophomore linebackers
Cody Moncure and
Terrell Brown have recorded 26 and 25 tackles, respectively. Sophomore safety
Jonathan Buffin has registered 18 tackles, an interception, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.
Sophomore punter
Christian Guzman leads the conference with an average of 43.7 yards on 22 attempts, and has five punts of 50 yards or more and has landed five inside the 20.
College of Faith is a first-year program in the United States Small College Athletic Association. The Warriors (0-2) are led by quarterback Antonio Harris, while completed 5-of-13 passes for 100 yards and rushed for 25 yards in a loss to Valparaiso. Jeremiah Blackwell carried 17 times for 90 yards against Valpo.
HBU announced this week that it will be offering free football tickets to current military, law enforcement, fire and emergency personnel. Fans can also receive free admission to Saturday's volleyball match between HBU and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 1 p.m. at Sharp Gym with their football ticket.
The Huskies return to action and Southland Conference play when Central Arkansas comes to town Saturday, Oct. 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Husky Stadium. The game will be televised live by American Sports Network. During halftime, the HBU baseball team will receive its rings for winning the 2015 Southland Conference Baseball Tournament and making its first-ever NCAA Baseball Tournament appearance.
