Monet Neal and redshirt freshman
Lisa Zderadicka's 16 points.
UNM (21-13) reached the second round of the WNIT, eventually falling to Oral Roberts, 63-61. Similar to the Huskies, UNM lost its leading scorer, but return its second leading scorer, Khadijah Shumpert, who averaged 10.8 points per game. She and Cherise Beynon led the team last season with 5.8 rebounds per game. The Lobos won two exhibition games last week: 78-41 versus Western New Mexico and 80-39 against New Mexico Highlands.
UTEP (12-16) lost to UAB, 63-52, in the opening round of the Conference USA Tournament last season. She also led the team with 54 steals and returns this season as the second-leading disher with 2.2 assists per game, behind Lulu McKinney's 3.4. UTEP defeated St. Mary's, 66-50, last Saturday in an exhibition tilt.
