HOUSTON – After being on the road the entire month of September, HBU women's soccer finally returns home to Sorrels Field this weekend when the Huskies take on Southland Conference leader Southeastern Louisiana Friday at 7 pm. The Huskies close the weekend against Nicholls Sunday at 1 pm.

HBU leads the all-time series with Southeastern Louisiana, 3-0-1, and defeated the Lady Lions by identical 2-1 scores last season; the latter coming in double overtime in the SLC quarterfinals, as Natalie Hager headed in the golden goal in the 110th minute. HBU leads the series with Nicholls, 2-1-0, and won 1-0 last season in Thibodaux in thrilling fashion when Charlotte Vancura scored off a corner with four seconds left in regulation.

HBU (4-3-1 overall, 2-1-0 SLC) found itself on both ends of one-goal games last weekend, with a 1-0 win at Sam Houston State Friday and a 2-1 loss at Stephen F. Austin Sunday. Ellee Hall scored the game winner late in the first half against SHSU, while Jessa LeBlanc notched her first-collegiate goal Sunday. Katie Turner was the keeper of record in both matches and is 3-2-1 on the season with a 1.05 goals-against average, a .760 save percentage, and three shutouts. Turner is second in the Southland Conference in both goals-against average and shutouts, and eighth in save percentage.

Southeastern Louisiana (8-1-1, 3-0-0) remained perfect in conference play with a 2-1 win over Abilene Christian Sunday. The Lady Lions' only loss this season came at No. 1 Florida State in late August. Gisenia Utreras leads the conference in points (21) and is T-2nd in goals (7) and T-1st in assists (7). Hope Sabadash leads the SLC in GAA (0.78), save percentage (.814), and shutouts (6).

Nicholls (2-6-1, 0-3-0) lost to visiting Incarnate Word Sunday by a score of 2-1. Spencer Valdespino is T-9th in the conference with 10 points. Her five goals place her T-4th in the SLC. The Colonels have used three different goalkeepers, but Amanda Boylson has seen the majority of action, as she is 1-5-0 with a 2.03 GAA, a .727 save percentage, and one shutout.

After this weekend, HBU concludes its three-game home stretch with a Friday tilt against Abilene Christian Oct. 9 at 5 pm.
