ABILENE, Texas – Fresh off a split at the University of Houston Wednesday night, HBU concludes its eight-game road trip with a Southland Conference series at Abilene Christian Saturday and Sunday.

Due to the threat of potential serious weather in the Abilene area Saturday, the original start of Saturday's doubleheader of 2 pm has been pushed up to 12 pm, with game two to follow immediately after. Sunday's game time remains unchanged at 1 pm.

UH took game one from the Huskies Wednesday, 2-1, while HBU (17-24 overall, 10-11 SLC) took the nightcap, 6-5 in eight innings. Alyssa Burnett's solo home run in the top of the eighth proved to be the game-winning run. Kirsten Schwirtlich's 14-game hitting streak ended in game two, as she went 0-for-4.
 
K. Schwirtlich leads the Huskies on the season with a .388 batting average, as she is 47-for-121 at the plate. She is fifth in the conference in batting average and sixth with eight home runs. Shay Orsak, who is tied with Lauren Schwirtlich with a .381 average, leads the conference with 18 doubles. Entering the UH doubleheader, Orsak was ranked sixth nationally with 0.41 doubles per game.
 
Emily Mueller leads the pitchers with a 2.93 ERA, as she is 7-9 with eight complete games, one shutout, 43 strikeouts and 44 walks.

Abilene Christian (18-25 overall, 7-7 SLC) lost a non-conference game at UT Arlington Wednesday, 5-1. Paige Stevens had the lone RBI for ACU.
 
Taylor Brown leads the Wildcats with a .361 average (39-for-108), as she has registered 25 runs, four doubles, two triples, and 16 RBI. Lyndi Smith, who is hitting .316, leads the team with nine home runs and 36 RBI.
 
Hannah Null leads a trio of pitchers with a 2.74 ERA, as she is 11-9 with 13 complete games, four shutouts, one save, 151 strikeouts, and 60 walks. She has started 20 of ACU's 42 games.

After the series at ACU, the Huskies conclude the regular season hosting Texas A&M Corpus Christi Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1 pm, while Sunday's single game starts at 2 pm. Immediately following Sunday's game will be "Senior Day" festivities for Daniella Rodarte, L. Schwirtlich, Kendall Stiefel, and Holly Webb.
