Jordan McCoy singled to extend his hitting streak to 10 games, matching the longest of the season for the Huskies, and junior centerfielder
Zach Nehrir doubled to run his streak to nine games.
Zack Gibson went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI, while Brandon Tierney went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run for the Islanders (19-19, 9-6). Josh Garza went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run, Kyle Danford went 2-for-5 and scored a pair of runs, and Cody Stephens went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run.
Devin Skapura (4-2) earned the win for TAMU-CC, allowing one run on nine hits in eight innings, while junior
Curtis Jones (2-3) took the loss for HBU, giving up six runs, five earned, on 12 hits in six innings.
The Huskies will play four-straight on the road, beginning with TCU Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Ft. Worth, Texas, followed by a three-game Southland series at Oral Roberts Friday through Sunday in Tulsa, Okla.
