Jordan McCoy's RBI single in the 10
th inning allowed the Huskies to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Lumberjacks in non-conference baseball Tuesday afternoon at Jaycees Field.
McCoy went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and has now reached safely in all 24 games this season for the Huskies (10-13-1). Senior leftfielder

CJ Jarvis doubled, drove in a run and scored.

Jake Gonzalez (1-0) picked up his first win of the, holding the Lumberjacks scoreless over the final two innings. Sophomore starter
Ross Kennell took a no-decision, giving up 1 run on two hits in four innings. Sophomores
Curtis Jones and
Josh Martinez each pitched a scoreless inning for the Huskies.
Hunter Dozier went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and a run for SFA (12-16), while Freddy Villalobos doubled and scored.
Garrett Powell (1-1) took the loss for the Lumberjacks, allowing one run on one hit in 1.1 innings. Lumberjacks starter Kevin Bishop allowed three runs on six hits and struck out six in four innings, while Cory Maltz held the Huskies scoreless on two hits and struck out four in four innings of relief.
Jones, who started the game at third bases, led off the top of the third with a double to center, then scored on Jarvis' RBI double to left. After Clements struck out for the second out, McCoy reached on an infield single, and Gonzalez ripped an RBI single to right. McCoy then scored on a balk to put HBU ahead, 3-0.
SFA answered in the bottom of the frame as Villalobos led off with a double, went to third on a balk and scored on Joseph Olson's groundout.
The score remained 3-1 until Jordan Lenaburg singled to lead off the sixth. Dozier then blasted his ninth home run of the season to tie the game.

Josh Foust led off the 10
th with a single to center then Jarvis moved him up with a sacrifice bunt. After Clements lined out for the second out, McCoy came through with an RBI single to right to put the Huskies back up, 4-3.
Gonzalez gave up a leadoff single to Olson in the bottom of the 10
th, then Rick Cruz pinch ran and advanced on Michael Ruiz's sacrifice bunt. Gonzalez got Ricardo Sanchez to groundout to third, then struck out Zach Benson looking to end the game.
The Huskies open Great West Conference play at home as they host North Dakota in a four-game series Friday through Sunday at Husky Field. The series begins with a single game Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a noon doubleheader Saturday, then the finale at 2 p.m. Sunday.
