HOUSTON – Houston Baptist begins a busy two-game home stand this week, hosting Texas State Wednesday night, Feb. 20, at 7 pm.

The Huskies are 0-1 all-time against the Bobcats, losing at Texas State, 86-61, on Dec. 28, 2011.

HBU (4-20) had another huge game from Shanice Steenholdt, but the Huskies were out-rebounded 67-29 and shot just 33% from the free-throw line, as host NJIT defeated HBU, 77-48, Feb. 16 in Newark, N.J.

Steenholdt recorded her 14th double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. It was her third 20+ point performance in the last four games. She also tied a career high with five blocks. Rachel Arthur came off the bench to score 14 points.

Rayven Johnson led NJIT with 20 points and 17 rebounds, while Uju Nwankwu had seven points and 14 boards.

On the season, Steenholdt leads HBU with 17.5 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 40 blocks, and 56 steals. Tayler Jefferson is second on the team with 9.0 ppg, while Erin McGarrachan is third with 8.6 ppg. McGarrachan is second with 6.0 rpg. Wiebke Bruns leads the team with 58 assists and is third with 26 steals.

Texas State (9-15) lost at UTSA, 74-65, on Feb. 16 in San Antonio.

Diamond Ford led four Bobcats in double figures, with 20 points. Ayriel Anderson scored 16, with Ashley Ezeh and Jasmine Baugus following, with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Whitney Wright and Simone Young led UTSA with 14 points each.

On the season, Ford leads the Bobcats with 21.1 ppg. Ezeh is second on the team in points (15.8 ppg) and leads the team with 9.6 rpg.
