HOUSTON – After taking two of three in the series at UTEP last weekend, the HBU softball team returns home to face Stephen F. Austin State in single-game action on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 2 pm from Husky Field.
SFA leads the all-time series, 15-2, as the Ladyjacks won all three meetings last season, one in Houston and two in Nacogdoches.
HBU (4-4) reached the .500 mark with a 6-3 win in the rubber match of the three-game series at UTEP last Sunday.
Callie Herrington and
Mollye Mlcak had a home run apiece. Herrington and
Daniella Rodarte each led HBU with two RBI each.
Kendall Stiefel pitched a complete game for her first collegiate win.
The Huskies are led at the plate by Herrington, who is batting .440 with team-leading 11 hits and seven RBI. She is tied for the lead with two home runs and has the squad's only triple.
Holly Webb is batting .417 with five hits, one double and two RBI.

Jammie Weidert won her third game in as many starts and leads the team with a 3-0 record and a 1.59 ERA. She has walked just two batters while stiking out a team-high 21.
SFA (2-9) went 2-3 at the Ragin' Cajun Invitational last weekend after starting the season 0-6. The Ladyjacks defeated Maine, 6-4, and UT-Martin, 6-0. They lost to Tennessee State, Maine and host Louisiana, who is currently ranked 15th in the country.
Amber Price leads the Ladyjacks with a .342 batting average, as she leads the team with 13 hits, four doubles and 17 total bases. Elizabeth Arana is batting .316 and has 12 hits, two doubles, six RBI and the only triple. Bethany Brown, who is hitting .231, has the team's only home run.
In the circle, Carlie Thomas has both of the team's wins and leads with a 5.64 ERA. She has three complete games in five starts with one shutout. She has walked 20 while striking out 22.
