Beth Evans Named Great West Pitcher of the Week

Sophomore had ERA of 0.69 in two games last week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Sophomore hurler Beth Evans was named Great West Pitcher of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office.

Evans went 1-1 last weekend at the Coastal Carolina Classic, falling to Oakland 2-1 and defeating Buffalo 3-0. In the game against the Bulls, Evans threw seven innings of no-hit relief, helping the Huskies earn the win. In the two games, she had an ERA of 0.69, striking out 10 batters while walking just one.

For the season, Evans leads the team with a 1.59 ERA and is second on the team with 28 strikeouts.
