SB: Hall adds quartet of transfers to complete recruiting class

Newcomer group stands at five as group joins early signee Chloe Phe

Houston Christian University Head Coach Mary-Ellen Hall has announced the addition of a quartet of transfers that complete the recruiting class for the 2026 season. Tayden Alexander, Sofia Hollingsworth, Raenna Liscano and Jade Moreno will all be transferring into HCU, joining early signee Chloe Phe in the Fall semester to round out a five-player incoming class.

Tayden Alexander - Nav

TAYDEN ALEXANDER is an outfielder who comes to HCU after spending her first two seasons at Navarro College. The Katy, Texas native was a two-time All-Conference player and also earned All-Region honors after helping the Bulldogs advance to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time in 10 years. After batting .423 with 28 stolen bases as a rookie, she started all 53 games and batted .437 with 84 hits and 34 stolen bases as a sophomore. The Tompkins High School product had eight three-hit games and a pair of four-hit contests during her second season.

Sofia Hollingsworth - PJC
Coming to the Huskies after spending single seasons at both University of Delaware and Paris Junior College is
SOFIA HOLLINGSWORTH. An infielder from Upland, California, Hollingsworth spent her rookie collegiate campaign on the east coast, seeing action in 18 games for the Blue Hens. She then moved to northeast Texas and helped the Dragons to a 50-11 record, Region XIV title and berth into the NJCAA National Tournament. She batted .434 on the season with five homers and 47 RBI, registering 31 multi-hit games. She earned first team All-Conference and All-Region honors before being named to the NFCA NJCAA Division 1 All-America team.

Raenna Liscano - ULL

RAENNA LISCANO joins HCU after spending a redshirt freshman year at University of Louisiana-Lafayette. An infielder and four-year letter-winner at Pearland High School, Liscano helped the Oilers to the 2023 6A State title after batting .389 with 57 RBI. She batted .380 during her senior season as PHS advanced to the regional round.

Jade Moreno - UTA
Two-way player
JADE MORENO transfers to HCU with two seasons remaining. The Corpus Christi native played her first two seasons at UTA splitting time as a pitcher/designated player. Over her two seasons with the Mavericks, she went 3-6 in 23 appearances in the circle, including 10 starts and batted .225 with three homers and seven RBI in 38 games. She helped lead Flour Bluff High School to state quarterfinal appearances as a junior and senior.

HALL ON THE CLASS:

"We are extremely excited about this group of signees. It was important for us to find ladies with experience on the collegiate level. We feel like we were able to add some quality bats, strong defense and another solid arm in the circle to what we have returning. It's a really good mix and we are looking forward to getting back to work."

Mary-Ellen Hall enters her 35th season at the helm of her alma mater. HCU went 17-33 in 2025 and advanced to its fifth consecutive Southland Conference Tournament despite having five players felled by season-ending injuries. The Huskies lost three seniors from last year's club including Haylie Savage, the first four-time All-Southland Conference honoree in program history.
