Senior Val Almendarez finished as the runner-up at the Southland Conference Championship, where the Huskies tied for sixth as a team, at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney. After sharing the lead at 9-over par 225 after 54 holes in regulation, Almendarez lost on the sixth hole of the sudden-death playoff. The San Antonio native led the Huskies with a 74.44 stroke average this season and was named to the Southland All-Conference Third Team.
