Junior forward Monet Neal set a new career high with 28 points in the Huskies' conference-opening loss Friday against Northwestern State, shooting 73 percent from the floor in the process. She also pulled down a season-high 18 rebounds, one shy of tying her career mark of 19 set last season. In Tuesday's hard-fought loss at Texas Tech, Neal was more of a defensive presence, holding the Lady Raiders to one of their lowest scoring performances of the season and forcing 17 turnovers. Neal finished with six points, six rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block in the game.
