Junior linebacker Garrett Dolan helped the Huskies to their first-ever Southland Conference road win with a 24-17 victory at Lamar Saturday. Dolan recorded 14 tackles, adding a forced and recovered a fumble, which set up the Huskies' first touchdown. He was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week and earned Stats FCS National Defensive Player of the Week honorable mention. Through eight games, Dolan has made 97 tackles, leading the league and ranking fourth nationally with 12.1 tackles per game.
