HOUSTON, Texas – A two-hour rain delay slowed down round two with the teams halting play due to darkness at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic hosted by Rice at Westwood Golf Club on Monday with the HCU men's golf team in 10
th place.
The Huskies all made it just over halfway through round two with junior
Robert Gonzalez standing in a tie for 13
th place at two-under. Gonzalez had a strong opening 18, firing a four-under-par 68 in a round with four birdies and zero bogies.
Cooper Camp,
Daniel Rice and
Rhett Turner are both presently four-over in a tie for 49
th. To this point in the tournament, there have been 13 eagles with one of them by Rice on the par-five hole number one.
HCU stands at +10 for the tournament after shooting a one-over 289. At the suspension of play, the Huskies were sitting at eight-over-par 189.
Play will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 8:00 a.m. for the conclusion of round two and the final third round.
