FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – HCU high jumper Julius Malone saw his record-breaking freshman season come to an end on Friday at the NCAA West First Round at John McDonnell Field.

Malone, who broke the program high jump record earlier in the season, cleared a top height of 2.07m/6-9.50 to tie for 31^st among the 48 competitors. The freshman posted his record-breaking jump on Mar. 28, 2026 at the Rice Victor Lopez Classic, clearing the bar at 2.17m/7-1.50.
