Fayetteville, AR – The first round of the NCAA West region started on Wednesday, May 27, and of the three HCU Huskies set to compete this weekend, two ran on day one.
SJ Marais competed in the men's 110m hurdles after posting a conference win in the event. Marais ran a time of 13.85, placing 26
th overall and falling just two spots short of qualifying for the quarterfinals.
Rayhan Mourtada was one of just six freshmen to qualify for the NCAA West first round in the men's 400m hurdles and posted a 52.89, placing him 43
rd overall, also falling short of a run to the quarterfinals.

Julius Malone will be the last Husky with the chance to advance in the competition as he competes in the men's high jump on Friday, May 29 at 2 PM.
