Fayetteville, Ark. - Over the weekend, the HCU track and field team competed in a split squad in two states. One group traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the John McDonnell Invitational, meanwhile the other group stayed in Houston at Rice University for the J. Fred Duckett Twilight Meet.
In Arkansas, freshman
Angela Hindes earned a fourth-place finish in the women's high jump, clearing a height of 1.65m/5-5.
On the track, SJ Marais kept adding to an outstanding outdoor season with a fifth-place finish in the men's 100m hurdles at a time of 14.00, while also taking home a new PR in the 200m dash, crossing the line at 21.32, narrowly missing out on a new school record.
In Houston, the Huskies kept the momentum going with a fourth overall finish from
Nysir Johnson in the men's triple jump with a jump of 13.82m/45-4.25, a new outdoor season best.
Storm Evans took home second overall in the women's discus, tossing the disc 46.48m/152-6.
On the track, Antoine Tshimanga ran a new PR of 1:50.09 in the men's 800m, good enough for a third-place finish.
The Huskies will stay in Houston for their last outdoor meet before the Southland Conference Championships at the UH Cameron Burrell Invitational on Apr. 30 at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
