BSB: Huskies and Panthers Meet in Prairie View on Tuesday

HCU is looking to snap a four-game skid



PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – HCU baseball continues its seven-game road swing this Tuesday afternoon with a trip west to take on the Prairie View A&M Panthers at Tankersley Field in a non-conference matchup.
 
The Huskies (18-24) are looking to get back in the win column after getting swept in a three-game road series against Southland Conference rival Southeastern this past weekend. HCU hasn't played a mid-week game since a Tuesday, Apr. 14 4-3 loss at Texas State. The Huskies had a pair of scheduled games last week get rained out.
 
Jack Walker and Jeremy Rader are both batting above .300 while starting every game this season. Walker stands at .313 for the season and has scored a team-high 34 runs. Rader, meanwhile, leads the team with 31 runs batted in while batting .302.
 
Prairie View A&M (8-33) dropped two of three this past weekend in SWAC play against Texas Southern. Two weeks ago, the Panthers lost a mid-week game against Southland Conference member Stephen F. Austin, 13-7, in Prairie View.
 
Freshman Ryland Duson paces the Panthers with a .368 average, 34 RBI, 31 runs scored, six home runs and 10 doubles. On the mound, Kenneth Haynes has struck out 38 batters in 50 innings pitched. As a team, Prairie View is hitting .273 while opponents have a .330 average against.
 
Following Tuesday's game, the Huskies will travel to Corpus Christi, Texas for a three-game SLC series against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
