HOUSTON – The HCU Huskies stayed in Houston for the UH Tom Tellez Invitational at the Carl Lewis International Complex and saw several top finishes in the field events.
Storm Evans continued her strong outdoor campaign with a fourth-place finish in the women's discus and a throw of 47.13m/154-07. Teammates
Chimaoge Nwokedi and
Angela Hindes took home third and fourth place finishes in the women's high jump, both clearing 1.66m/5-5.25.
In the men's high jump, freshman
Julius Malone claimed second overall, clearing a height of 2.06m/6-9.00. Meanwhile, his teammates
Adryan Schuetz and
Kade Stevens cleared 1.96m/6-5.00, good enough for a tie in fifth place in the same event.
On the track,
Zanashia Harris placed second overall in the women's 800m with a time of 2:15.52.
HCU track and field will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas next week to compete at the Arkansas John McDonnell Invitational on Apr. 24.
