HOUSTON – HCU and Texas Southern renew a crosstown rivalry that hasn't been played since 2019 on Tuesday evening when the Huskies host the Tigers at Husky Field in a non-conference matchup starting at 6:30 p.m.
HCU (12-16) snapped a six-game losing streak this past weekend at SFA but dropped the three-game Southland Conference series to the Lumberjacks.
Jack Walker drove in three runs and scored three runs during the series and ran his reached base streak to 15 consecutive games. The senior outfielder has recorded at least one hit in all but four of the last 23 games.

Luke Bard is currently on an eight-game hitting streak, going 6-for-13 this past weekend in Nacogdoches with a pair of doubles. HCU continues to remain near the top of the SLC in team batting average, hitting collective .274 to rank third in the league.
TSU (12-11) comes into the game having won five of its last six. The Tigers have played seven games against SLC opponents this season, five vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and two vs. UTRGV. TSU earned a win at TAMUCC.
The Tigers are batting .325 as a team, led by Miguel Morales who is hitting an impressive .446 in 65 plate appearances. Bryce Robinson leads the team with eight home runs and 32 RBI. As a team, the Tigers have 33 stolen bases in 44 attempts led by Zachari Pace, with nine.
The Huskies are 27-13 all-time against the Tigers, most recently earning a 6-4 win at Husky Field on Apr. 30, 2019.
HCU will remain at home to host an SLC series against the Nicholls Colonels from Thursday through Saturday, Apr. 2-4. Thursday and Friday are slated for 6:30 p.m. starts with Saturday set for a 2:00 p.m. start.
