HOUSTON - HCU track & field concluded the Robert Platt Invitational on day two with more strong marks and PRs inside the University of Houston Yeoman Fieldhouse.
Chimaoge Nwokedi earned a second overall finish in the women's high jump with a jump of 1.70m/5-7.00.
Anouk Verdaasdonk jumped her way to a new PR and a fourth-place finish in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.59/18-4.25. In the men's long jump,
Balvin Israel also placed fourth overall with a jump of 7.15m/23-5.50.
On the track,
Ashton Munoz-Nieves followed up a strong day one by qualifying for the finals in the men's 60-meter hurdles by running 8.00 in Friday's semifinals and then closing out the meet with a fourth-place finish in the finals with a time of 7.93, a new PR.
The Huskies return to competition on Saturday, Feb, 7, with a split squad competing at the Woo Pig Classic in Fayetteville, Ark. and the FasTrak Collegiate Classic in Houston at the Yeoman Fieldhouse.
