DES MOINES, Iwoa - The Houston Christian men's golf team is set to return to action at the Zach Johnson Invitational, hosted by Drake University, on Monday and Tuesday, September 22ā23, in Des Moines, Iowa. The two-day event will feature a competitive field including Drake, Eastern Illinois, Indian Hills, North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota, UNI, Western Illinois, and HCU.
The tournament will be played at Glen Oaks Country Club, a par-71 course stretching 6,961 yards. Since 2017, Glen Oaks has been the home of the Zach Johnson Invitational and has consistently challenged players with its demanding layout. Teams will face a shotgun start each day, opening with 36 holes on Monday before wrapping up competition with 18 holes on Tuesday.
Houston Christian will field a strong lineup featuring senior leadership and rising talent. Seniors
Carter Patterson,
Brendon Willey, and
Mason Napier will anchor the Huskies with their experience and consistency. Juniors
Brooks Pawlak and
Cooper Camp add depth to the squad, while freshman
Julian Worrell looks to gain valuable collegiate experience in his first season.
The Zach Johnson Invitational will serve as another important early-season test for HCU as the team looks to build momentum before returning home for the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at Westwood Country Club on September 29ā30.
