BSB: Huskies Bound for NCAA Austin Regional

HCU will face No. 2 Texas on Friday at 1:00 p.m.

AUSTIN, Texas – The 2025 Southland Conference champion HCU Huskies will make a trip to the Texas hill country to the Austin Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament, opening play on Friday against No. 2 overall seed Texas at UFCU Disch-Falk Field at 1:00 p.m.

Joining the Huskies (32-23) and Longhorns (42-12) in the regional are No. 2 seed UTSA (44-13) and No. 3 seed Kansas State (31-24).

The Huskies earned their spot in the tournament after sweeping through five games in the Southland Conference Tournament, going 3-0 in the Edinburg Bracket as part of the tournament's bracket play before defeating New Orleans twice in a best-of-three Championship Series at Husky Field this past Thursday and Friday. HCU heads into the regional in Austin on a six-game winning streak.

This marks the second time HCU has earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament with the last coming in 2015. That year, the Huskies were the No. 4 seed and dropped a pair of close games to No. 1 seed Houston, 6-4, and No. 2 seed Rice, 3-1.

The double-elimination regional bracket will begin Friday, May 30, and run through Sunday, June 1 with a potential final game on Monday, June 2, should it be necessary.
