Destiny Quintanilla posted a top-four finish while
SJ Marais won his heat in the men's 100-meter hurdles to lead HCU on day two of the Southland Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Rice's Ley Track.
SJ Marais won his heat in the men's 110-meter hurdles prelims to advance to the finals, posting a time of 14.29for the third-fastest time of the prelims. Teammate
Ashton Munoz-Nieves also advanced on time, crossing the finish line in 14.53.
In the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase,
Destiny Quintanilla picked up five points for the Huskies thanks to a fourth-place finish with a time of 11:14.21.
Josh Gillis-Harry just missed out on earning points in the long jump, leaping to an outdoor PR mark of 7.08m/23-2.75 and finishing ninth.
The Huskies finish out the SLC Championships on Saturday, May 17, with events beginning at 3:00 p.m.
