AUSTIN, Texas –
Arlette Concepcion,
Edouard Lecrivain and
Destiny Quintanilla all set new program records as a group of distance runners competed at the 97
th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Thursday evening at Myers Stadium.
Lecrivain set the new program record in the 1500m with a time of 3:46.59, improving on the record of 3:47.20 set by
Alex Piquart in 2023, to place second.
Eline Mast earned an event win in the women's 1500m A race, crossing the finish line in 4:22.82 for a new PR. In the men's 1500m B event,
Raphael Aureau raced to a time of 3:54.30.
In the women's 3,000m steeplechase, Quintanilla broke her own record set at last year's Southland Conference Championships by more than six seconds. The junior raced to a time of 10:46.17 while finishing sixth. Concepcion, meanwhile, bested the 5,000 meter record previously held by Quintanilla by more than 30 seconds, posting a time of 16:56.42.
In the men's steeple,
Leandre Lahalle posted a time of 9:18.41 while
Justice Artisst closed out the night with a time of 32:03.93 in the 10,000 meters.
A group of Huskies will be competing on Friday, Mar. 28, at the Texas Relays before a larger contingent takes part in the Victor Lopez Classic across town on the Rice campus on Saturday, Mar. 29.
