HOUSTON, Texas – HCU track and field opened the 2025 outdoor season on Friday across town at the TSU Relays at Durley Stadium.
Brianna Hinds opened the morning with a first-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing in 1:05.13 while
Denzel Hinds earned a win in the men's 400h, crossing in 54.47. In the men's 110 meter hurdles,
Benny Haywood won by more than three tenths of a second, finishing in 14.92. In the women's 100 meter hurdles,
Lanaye Keys placed second with a time of 15.26.
Alex Long-Craine came away with an event win in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.03. In the women's 100m,
Peyton Oliver and
Raylen Russell came in fourth and fifth, respectively, with times of 12.73 and 12.81.
Storm Evans beat the field in the discus by nearly 20 feet, posting a top throw of 44.11m/144-8.0. In the women's shot put,
Taylor Brown posted a top throw of 11.91m/39-1.0.
The Huskies will next compete at the Texas Relays set to take place in Austin, Texas from Wednesday, Mar. 26 through Saturday, Mar. 29.
