WSOC: Whiting Announces Spring Schedule

The Huskies will play four games at home this spring

HOUSTON - HCU head coach Nick Whiting has announced the 2025 women's soccer spring schedule, featuring four of the team's five match days at Sorrells Field.

HCU will host North American, Prairie View A&M, Saint Mary's (TX) and Rice. The Huskies will round out their spring schedule when they travel to Blinn College for a 7v7 Tournament.

"The team has been working hard in training and making tremendous strides, so we are looking forward to playing some outside competition," said Whiting. "The schedule will test us against a variety of quality opponents with different styles of play and it will allow us to assess the progress we have been making as a team, individually and as a staff. It will be fun to get some matches in as we continue our development and growth for next fall. I'm proud of our team's efforts so far and look forward to seeing some great crowds here on campus with so many home games!"

The spring slate kicks off on Mar. 6, when the Huskies host cross-town opponent North American University. On Mar. 22, HCU will host a familiar opponent, Prairie View A&M. Last fall season saw HCU travel to Prairie View and come away with a 3-1 victory. A week later, HCU will welcome Saint Mary's (TX) to Sorrells Field for an afternoon match up.

HCU will play its final match against another in-town opponent, hosting Rice on Apr. 3. HCU edged Rice in a preseason friendly this past fall by a score of 2-1. The Owls are coming off a strong year that saw them go 12-6-2.

To conclude the spring slate, the Huskies will travel to Blinn College for a bit of fun, competing in a 7v7 tournament in Brenham.
