FRISCO, Texas – HCU freshman guard
Kamryn McLaurin has been named Southland Conference Player of the Week following her standout performance in the Huskies' 77-70 double overtime win over Southeastern last Thursday.
McLaurin came off the bench in HCU's win over conference foe Southeastern last Thursday, lighting it up with a career-best 29 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor in 39 minutes played. The freshman also went 8-of-14 from the foul line while recording three steals, two rebounds and an assist. She has scored in double-figures in seven of eight games this season and currently the team's leading scorer at 14 points per game.
McLaurin and the Huskies take aim at a perfect 3-0 start to SLC play this coming Thursday, Dec. 15, when they travel to Thibodaux, La. to face the Nicholls Colonels at 6:30 p.m.
