FRISCO, Texas – HCU senior Marques Caldwell has been named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week following Saturday's 27-24 road win at Indiana State.

Caldwell came up with a huge interception near midfield with a 35-yard return down to the Sycamores' 10-yard line in the third quarter that set the Huskies up in the red zone and led to an HCU field goal that put the Huskies up by two scores, 27-17. It was Caldwell's first interception of his career.

Caldwell and the Huskies are back home this Saturday, Oct. 5, when they face McNeese at 6:00 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
