HOUSTON – HCU senior placekicker
Dillon Fedor was named Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday morning following a standout performance over the weekend in the Huskies' first-ever victory over a ranked opponent.
In the Huskies' 43-22 home win over McNeese on Saturday, Fedor totaled 19 points with his right foot for the highest-scoring game by an FCS kicker so far this season. He staked HCU to an early 6-0 lead with a pair of field goals, including a season-high 45-yarder. He then connected for another in the third quarter and two more in the fourth as HCU opened Southland Conference play with an emphatic victory.
Fedor finished the night five-of-five on field goals and was a perfect four-of-four on extra point attempts. The senior is now 18-of-21 on field goal attempts in his HCU career and ranks third in program history in field goals made.
Fedor and the Huskies will aim to make it three-in-a-row this coming Saturday, Oct. 12, when they host the Southeastern Lions at Husky Stadium at 2:00 p.m.
