SB: Huskies place seven on Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete list

Roberts, Janes, Sydlik, Martin honored for second time in career



LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The postseason accolades continued to roll in for HCU as the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2022-23 academic year were announced late Monday.

The Huskies had seven selected with the academic honors, which recognize student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2022-23. 

Jasie Roberts, Katy Janes, Autumn Sydlik and Riley Martin all garnered the honors for the second time in their career, while Lyndie Swanson, Maggie Childs and Addy Prasifka earned their initial honors. 

Roberts and Janes added the NFCA academic honors on top of their Southland All-Academic honors announced after the season. Roberts is a three-time SLC All-Academic choice majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology while carrying a 3.97 GPA, while Janes is a 3.96 student majoring in Kinesiology-Allied Health.

Sydlik earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology-Wellness Management with a minor in Psychology in 2022. She is now working on her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counsel, and posts a 4.00 GPA.

Lyndie Swanson will be graduating this summer with a degree in Graphic Design, where she is a 3.49 student. She will begin work on a Master's degree in Studio Art and Drawing in the Fall.

Martin checks in with a 3.88 GPA in Biology with a minor in Psychology.

Childs and Prasifka round out the group of honorees. Childs has a 3.90 GPA in Interdisciplinary Studies, while Prasifka is majoring in Elementary Education with a 3.70 GPA.

HCU has had 47 student-athletes honored 98 different times since 2010.
