HCU plays its only game over a nine-day span when it travels to University of Texas-San Antonio on Tuesday evening. The Huskies will have the Easter holiday off before a six-game conference homestand begins next week.

The Huskies dropped two of three last weekend in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Northwestern State. Lyndie Swanson's complete game gem in game two salvaged a split of Friday's twin-bill, before the Demons took a 6-1 series clinching victory on Saturday afternoon.

Now at 4-5 in Southland action, the Huskies are in fifth place just one game behind NSU in the standings. McNeese sits atop the league race at 9-0 in SLC play and 26-10 overall.

AB Garcia continues to pace the HCU offense, batting .417 on the season. Second in the league in batting average and first in total hits, AB is currently on a five-game hitting streak and has hit safely in 12 of her last 14 games. She also leads the team with 14 stolen bases.

Haylie Savage hits at a .327 clip and ranks fifth in the Southland in total hits. She leads the Huskies with four homers and 25 RBI and has 12 multi-hit games, second only to Garcia's 15.

Swanson upped her record to 7-5 on the season with Friday's win, and she totaled 12.1 innings over the weekend allowing two earned runs to lower her ERA to 3.41 on the year.

UTSA comes into the Tuesday contest at 6-27 overall and 2-7 in Conference USA play after being swept in a conference series by Florida International in Miami.

Kat Ibarra, a junior infielder from Katy and Tompkins HS, leads UTSA with a .358 batting average. Marena Estell, a grad pitcher/designated player from Hooks, Texas, is batting .308 with two homers and 18 RBI. She has a 2-7 record in the circle in 18 appearances and nine starts.

Taylor Jensen, a junior catcher from Melbourne, Florida, is batting .300 with three homers and 14 RBI. Reagan Smith, a frosh right-hander from Sante Fe, Texas is 3-11 with 23 appearances and 11 games started for the Runners.

Tuesday will mark the 30th meeting all-time with UTSA holding a 22-7 lead in the series. The two schools last met in Houston last March 1, with the Roadrunners claiming a 9-1 victory.

After the game with UTSA, the Huskies (14-20 overall) will be off until beginning a week-long battle against Lions during a six-game homestand.

The Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce hit Husky Field for three games on Tuesday, April 11 (4 pm / 6 pm DH) and Wednesday, April 12 (12 pm).

HCU will then host Southeastern Louisiana's Lions in the same format on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15.
