HOUSTON, Texas – The Huskies host Northwestern State for a Southland Conference series at Husky Field on Friday, April 14^th through Sunday, April 16^th.

HCU is 9-14 all-time against Northwestern State and went 1-2 during the 2022 conference season, winning the final matchup, 10-1. The Huskies are 6-4 at Husky Field since 2017 against Northwestern State with their last home win coming in game three of the 2021 conference series.

Junior outfielder Samuel Benjamin leads the way batting .340 avg. on the season including a team high 28 RBIs, 20 runs, eight doubles, and six home runs for the Huskies (6-22, 3-3 SLC). In Benjamin's last game, he went 3-for-6 including a home run and a walk-off single in the bottom of the 13^th inning. Freshman outfielder Damian Ruiz is hitting .303 avg. on the year with 17 RBIs, 14 runs, six doubles, and a home run. Freshman catcher Dylan LaRue has recorded multiple hits in each of his last four games, and five of his last six games, batting .500 avg. (13-for-26) over the stretch with seven RBIs, five runs, two doubles, and two home runs.

Junior infielder Reed Chumley is on a four-game hitting streak including six runs, three RBIs, two double, and a homerun over the stretch. Senior infielder Tyler LaRue is coming off his best game of the year going 3-for-6 with five RBIs, a grand slam, and a walk against UTRGV.
 
Michael Dattalo is hitting .339 avg. on the season with 21 RBIs, 20 runs, nine doubles, and a home run for the Northwestern State Demons (18-13, 4-2 SLC). Jeffrey Elkins is batting .300 avg. on the year with 27 runs, 17 RBIs, seven doubles, and five home runs while Daunte Stuart's batting average is .274% on the season with 22 runs, 21 RBIs, eight doubles, five home runs, and a triple.
