AUSTIN, Texas – HCU track & field had student-athletes compete in both Austin and San Marcos at the 95
th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational on Friday.
At the Bobcat Invitational, freshman
Reem Tammam leapt a PR jump in the long jump of 5.98m/19-7.5 to place seventh with
Noa Grochowski not far behind in ninth with a top leap of 5.89m/19-4. In the B section long jump on Thursday,
Rebecca Pecora jumped 5.87m/19-3 for a new PR. In the men's long jump,
Destiny Nkeonye placed just outside the top-10 with a top mark of 7.27m/23-10.25.
Meanwhile, in Austin, the men's 4x400 relay of
Denzel Hinds,
Mark Ngei,
Travis Jacobs and
Krzysztof Turski placed 11
th in their section with a time of 3:15.31. The women's distance medley relay consisting of
Jessica Rabius,
Isabel Case,
Eline Mast and
Destiny Quintanilla finished third with a time of 11:39.87.
In sprints and hurdles,
Garrett Gibson ran a wind-aided 13.87 to place 23
rd in the 110-meter hurdles prelims. In the women's 100-meter hurdles,
Lanaye Keys ran a wind-aided PR of 14.63 while
Brianna Brand posted a wind-aided time of 12.03 in the 100-meter dash.
HCU's weekend closes on Saturday, Apr. 1, with a few Huskies competing in jumps at the Bobcat Invitational.
